Ever since Ion Storm shut their doors in 2005, no one would have ever thought they'd see another Deus Ex game again. (But after DX2 who would want to.. *cough*) But a few months ago there were rumors going around of a new Deus Ex 3 being developed by a new Eidos studio in Montreal. Well as of yesterday those rumors were confirmed.

Deus Ex 3 is going to happen.

Along with the announcement, a small "teaser" video was released.

It was broght to my attention by moop that there is a huge Deus Ex Multiplayer map archive available for download. Details are as follows.

• Installs 350+ Maps (including textures, music, sound, etc)
  
• Installs the No-CD fix
  
• Installs MTL patch
  
• Installs Engine.dll that can play/record demorecs properly
  
• Installs OpenGL rendering fix
  
• Installs DXIPServer security fix
  
• Backs up your DeusEx.ini and User.ini files
  
• Installs Documentation (ReadMe, FAQ, Community links, Videos, etc)
  
• Registers the deusex:// protocol so you can join servers from a link
  
• Installs new splash screens
  
• Optionally installs QValidate (optionally) - players will need QValidate to join if you use it. Verifies client-side files match MD5 checksum (helps block hacked packages)

In a DX2 related story: News comes from TTLG that Eidos has released editing tools for Thief 3. Download links, including a torrent, can be found here. Here's a screenshot just for good measure.

Could there yet be hope for a DX2 editor? Both games use the same engine...
